TCL TV Remote App for Roku & Google TV

TCL sells TVs with different systems inside, so the right phone remote depends on which one you have. Here's how to tell, and how to set your phone up as the remote in a minute.
Which system does my TCL TV run?
- TCL Roku TV: the home screen is the Roku menu, with a purple theme.
- TCL Google TV: the home screen says "For you" at the top. Older TCL models run Android TV, which pairs the same way.
- TCL Fire TV: some TCL models run Amazon's Fire TV.

How do I set up a TCL Roku TV?
- Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the TV.
- Open Remofy. Your TCL Roku TV shows up in the list after a few seconds.
- Tap it. Roku needs no code.
If the TV is found but ignores the buttons, check Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps and set it to Enabled. Remofy shows when a Roku has it switched off, and connects by itself once it's on.
How do I set up a TCL Google TV or Android TV?
- Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the TV.
- Open Remofy and tap your TCL TV.
- Type the 6-character code the TV shows (it can include the letters A-F).
No code on the TV? On TCL TVs, turn on Screenless service in the TV's settings, update or enable Android TV Remote Service from the Play Store on the TV, restart the TV and try again.
How do I set up a TCL Fire TV?
Tap the TV in Remofy and type the 4-digit code the TV shows. If your model doesn't offer the code, Remofy walks you through turning on ADB debugging instead.

Can I turn my TCL TV on from the phone?
On a TCL Roku TV, yes, when Settings > System > Power > Fast TV start is on. Other models depend on the TV's network standby settings.

Yes. The phone and the TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. A guest network or a VPN on the phone will keep them apart.
