Privacy policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Marmix Tech SRL ("Remofy", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Remofy app and the website at remofy.app. Our approach is simple: Remofy is built to control your TV over your own network, and we collect as little as possible — no account, and no personal data for analytics.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up.You don't create an account to use Remofy.
- Your TV control stays on your network.Commands travel directly from your phone to your TV over your local Wi-Fi / LAN. We don't receive or store what you watch or which buttons you press.
- Analytics are anonymous and aggregate. We use them only to understand how the app and website perform — never to identify you, and we don't sell data.
- The app is free and ad-supported. Ads are served by Google, with a consent prompt where the law requires one.
How Remofy controls your TV
Remofy connects to compatible smart TVs over your home Wi-Fi / local network using each TV's own protocol. The connection is between your phone and your TV on your network; we are not in the middle of it. Remofy does not use an infrared (IR) blaster and does not cast or mirror your screen. Information such as your TV's name and local IP address, and any pairing token the TV issues, is stored on your device so saved TVs reconnect — it is not uploaded to us.
Analytics — anonymous, no personal data
We want to know how the product performs so we can fix problems and improve it. We do this with anonymous, aggregate analytics only:
- Website (remofy.app): we use Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless, no cross-site tracking) and Google Analytics 4 configured with IP anonymization and with Google Signals and ad-personalization turned off. These measure aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, approximate region — not individuals.
- App:we use Google's analytics (Firebase / Google Analytics for Apps) to collect anonymous, app-performance information — for example crash reports, which features are used, and whether a connection succeeded. This tells us how the app is working. It is not used to build a personal profile of you, and it does not include the content you view on your TV.
Because the website analytics are cookieless or IP-anonymized and collect no personal data, no cookie-consent banner is required for them.
Advertising
Remofy is free and supported by ads delivered through Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the UK and other regions where it is required, the app shows a consent prompt powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) so you can choose how ads are personalized. You can watch a short rewarded video to remove ads for 24 hours; the touchpad, keyboard and app launcher are never placed behind a paywall. Google may process certain device identifiers to serve and measure ads — see Google's Privacy Policy.
Third-party services we rely on
- Google Play Services, AdMob, Firebase / Google Analytics — app distribution, ads and anonymous analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and cookieless web analytics for remofy.app.
These providers process information under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
TV pairing data lives on your device and is removed when you remove a saved TV or uninstall the app. Aggregate analytics are retained by our providers according to their standard retention settings.
Children
Remofy is not directed to children under 13, and our Terms restrict use to people over 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/EEA GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. Because we don't hold an account or personal profile for you, most requests are satisfied by adjusting the ad-consent prompt or uninstalling the app. For anything else, contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
